‘á la mode’ is a french phrase that typically means ‘in fashion’! Today’s look is precisely about- everything that is in fashion. Monochrome and colour-blocking outfits have been in vogue for the longest time now and with one piece of clothing, I’ve put to use both the trends.
This pleated skirt caught my attention and was the very last piece in the store. Slightly oversized, I still decided to purchase the skirt because it was love at first sight with this one. I’d literally been dying to shoot a look in this skirt and when I finally managed to, I actually couldn’t contain my happiness. You know, it’s that feeling of living upto your own expectations.
For the first look I decided to team up the skirt with a plum coloured corduroy shrug which I decided to wrap around my waist with the help of a belt which defined my body structure. Else, had i worn the shrug normally, the outfit would have looked baggy and would have given my body an ill-defined shape.
I opted for tribal brass jewellery because it complimented the look well and also made the entire outfit look glam. I kept my make-up rather simple with the lip shade matching the colour of my shrug.
For the second look, I opted for a monochrome outfit with my clutch and the lip-shade adding colour to the outfit. Black&White is associated with the classic era and is an evergreen combination which under no circumstances can go wrong.
Wore my white shrug with tiny embellishments with the skirt and my current favourite pair of heels. I purposefully decided to tie my hair at the back for both the looks because I wanted the outfit to draw all the attention.
From the earrings to the heels, everything is either black or white which just makes this look a classy one.
