What was November like?

This blog is my home so coming back to it even after a break feels warm and fuzzy, just like the blanket you’re wrapped in. It’s the winter season and I’d like to assume the same, you know. I shall also take this moment to acknowedge that this is my first ever winters where I have not covered my self in layers of clothes and haven’t worn my boots, something that I now miss.

Let’s get to the answer though. November for me, was spent perfectly while reliving the childhood memories. The entire family went on a North-east tour! So, planning a holiday with dad means it’s going to be a jam packed itineary with thousands of places to see, with a time crunch that only leads to hilarious scenarios. Just that, this time around I planned the trip and as much as I hate to accept it, history did repeat itself.

Don’t miss noticing the sky and the colours of the landscape!

So, this one time around during the trip, mom wanted to visit a famous church in Kohima which wasn’t on the itineary because I told everyone that there are better vidoes of it on Youtube. Anyhow, for how long can you possibly argue with your mother? We eventually caved in. Thus, after a 10hour long road journey where we’d already explored the Naga Heritage Village, with little energy left we were then headed towards the church which happened to be undergoing some repair. At that moment, the expressions we had on our faces was unparalled. Later, we checked in into our guest rooms and then headed for lunch at 4.00pm. Wait for it, we WALKED towards our destination- a cafe that I had zeroed down on, after much research.

Just a couple of breath-taking sunrises we got to witness!

Another incident that I cannot help recalling, was the journey to the Wahrashi waterfalls, Meghalaya. The very same day we arrived in Shillong, we decided to explore a hidden gem because taking misty pictures at Laitlum canyons wasn’t satisfactory for us. Since, our driver was a local he suggested we could explore a waterfall about 20kms away. Let me tell you, 20kms never seemed longer in life because it turned out the waterfall was nearly 40kms away!! With the roads still being constructed and given the terrain of the place, it felt both like a nightmare and a dream come true!

That’s not it, In Meghalaya the journey begins where the road ends. Having arrived at our destination, little did we know we’d have to climb up and down the stairs to actually see the waterfall. Had I given it a second thought, I swear I’d have preferred to just stay seated in the car but we all just ran towards it. This is what the waterfalls looked like.

On our way back though, I confirmed with the driver if at all he was local?! Ahaha!

We were travelling for 10 days and you may now imagine what the trip felt like. When we got back home, we couldn’t decide if we were happy or sad that the trip ended. However, we couldn’t have asked for more.

Also, if you haven’t travelled to Meghalaya yet, you have no idea what you’re missing in life.

And on that note, November was wholesome and fulfilling in every capacity.
