Suit Suit Karda ;)

The chandigarh effect has been rubbing off on me, hence the title. It’s not just that though, it fits perfectly with the outfits too.

In my recent instagram posts I’ve emphasized enough on how much I love Indian attires, more so during the summers because it makes the heat a tad bit bearable. A kurta and salwar/palazzos being my go to summer outfit. That’s exactly why I’ve come up with these looks. It’s not just one single look because I’ve tried to show two different ways of styling the salwar and dupatta which are the constants in both the outfits.

In the first outfit I’ve avoided making a contrast with the salwar and kept all the colors sublte. The embroidered cream kurta and the peach dupatta mellow down the color of the salwar, thus balancing the outfit. The jutis are of course coordinated with the dupatta because that’s how I like it. The best part about this ensemble is that it’s minimalist and yet makes a statement because “Less is More”.

The second outfit is a little hatke and for all those who love experimenting with colors. It’s basically what I love doing these days i.e Color Blocking! The kurta/dress has shades of blue and the Hot pink salwar make for a perfect combination and of course I’ve the dupatta which again acts as a neutralizing factor in the outfit!

It’s important to keep in mind that in summers particularly during the day we must wear colors that are soothing to the eyes and not in your face kinds. That’s why, while I chose a Hot pink salwar I kept the rest of the colors very light in the first outfit. On the other hand, in the second one I went with two bright colors at the same time because sometimes you don’t care how hot it is outside and in that case you must wear whatever you want and however you want! 😛

Another tip would be, experiment with colors and your wardrobe. Just because you’ve been wearing a suit a particular way for years doesn’t mean you have to continue doing so. Mix and match! Also, no outfit details for this blog post because I’ve mix and matched stuff from my mom’s wardrobe and the salwar is tailored!

Xoxo
