CLASSIC COUTURE

To, whoever figured the ‘basics’ and ‘classics’ of the fashion world, where would we be without you?!

This particular post is all about putting the classic combinations to use. Therefore it comprises of just three varied colours, all of which have for a very long time been the epitome of classic colour combinations, provided they are used intelligently.

The day before I shot this look, I’d almost given up on finding just the right pair of clothing that would go with this slip dress. No points for guessing, I wanted to make this dress useful for the winters (winter afternoon to be precise). The next day (i.e the day I shot this look) I’d already thought of this specific attire in my head and I was hoping it would look good (and it did).

That’s when I figured that as a fashion blogger, quite often, in an attempt to stand out I forget the basic and then I create looks like these, that remind me of the essentials. That’s exactly why I gave this blog the title ‘Classic Couture’. Amidst all the hullabaloo surrounding trends and keeping up with them, we forget that classic attires and combinations are the very essence of the fashion world.

So here I am, in the most basic outfit. Wearing a black skivvy, a red slip dress, a black over coat and a pair of beige stilettos. With a sleek hairdo and just the mascara and lipstick, I didn’t think of adding anything else to this attire.

Walk into the room and make heads turn with this one!
